Logan Percussion Wins GOLD at Championships!

Congratulations to the Logan Percussion Scholastic Concert World CHAMPIONS!! The talented James Logan students took 1st place, staging a remarkable come from behind win to beat out 2nd place Ayala High School. After the April 18th Preliminaries, the contest looked like the Championship would go to either Muscle Shoals HS (Muscle Shoals, Alabama), or Ayala HS (Chino Hills, CA), as they were practically tied for 1st place in prelim competition (click here for Prelim scoring). Far behind in 3rd place was Rowland HS (Rowland Heights, California) with never-say-never James Logan in 4th place, nearly 3 huge points behind 1st place. Then came the Finals on April 19th....

The kids rehearsed in blistering cold, arctic winds and hail to give an emotional, intense, and highly entertaining performance. Logan leapfrogged right over the other schools and took the GOLD with a score of 95.45! (click here for Finals scoring). An incredible achievement, without a doubt. Congratulations to the hard working students and staff. It is especially gratifying to have this win for Mr. Oliver and Tien Nguyen. The win was a highly emotional one for performers, staff and parents alike!
